How did these programs start?
Abby Dew For You began in 2021. Our Director of Operations, Abby, worked as a para-professional in DCSD and provided respite care. Quickly, her schedule filled up and she couldn’t fill the demand. While problem solving a way to meet everyone’s needs as only one person, she realized that parents have full time jobs by taking care of their children, not to mention their professional work and social lives. The people she served were lonely and unable to navigate peer relationships independently. Abby found a solution to the care crisis by planning and executing our events - giving parents and caregivers respite in the process. What started as a women’s social group on the weekend turned into three social programs, a day program and three retreats/year in less than a year. Thank you for growing with us!

Why are there fees if I am using my waiver?
Abby Dew For You is one-of-a-kind. We don’t view our work or our community as charity so we don’t focus our resources on fundraising. Our outings are organized intentionally and don’t rely on donations or freebies. We are committed to keeping costs as low as possible.
